Maryville mixes older homes near downtown and Maryville College with subdivisions that have spread toward the foothills and along US 321. Being this close to the Smokies means temperatures can swing hard, with icy mornings in winter and muggy afternoons along the Maryville Greenbelt in summer. Those swings are tough on furnaces, heat pumps and AC units alike. Treat it as an emergency when you have no heat during a hard freeze, no cooling in a heat wave, a system that refuses to turn on, a burning smell from the vents, water leaking from the indoor or outdoor unit, or a breaker that keeps tripping.
Every hour without heat or cooling adds risk. An older adult living alone, a newborn, or a dog home alone can be hurt by extreme indoor temperatures sooner than expected. Winter outages raise the chance of frozen pipes, especially in homes with crawl spaces on the hilly lots around Maryville, and a leaking unit can quietly damage floors and walls. A failing blower motor can become a major repair if the system keeps running. If you ever smell gas or hear a carbon monoxide alarm, step outside with your family first, call 911 or the gas company, and then reach out to us.
